House plans never allow for it cos architects are karnts.

Pixy, you might get away with a Daikin VRV (multiple indoor systems running from one outdoor unit) or a similar setup from other manufacturers if you can stretch the budget.

even if custom built they dont allow for ducting, if the designer/architect is good they will

I remember in a house we built when I was in high school they didnt allow for it, so the air con guys used our wardrobe space to run ducting down stairs. but we lost wardrobe space obviously. and we had a random boxed section in the parents walk in robe for more ducting.  fml

We had a company that only used Daikin and he never mentioned a VRV system. He also quoted us for ducted and 1 split. Our first house we went with Daikin and I wanted the same.

Second quote they used Mitsubishi same size system for both and same location of out door.

Looks like quote 2 wins.

The architect never accommodated for the ducted system. Even before the design was started we told the builder that we will be getting ducted.

They're more of a commercial setup but they allow for smaller units for different areas rather than one unit to cover the whole house. Main issue is price as they're not cheap.

Electrics and tapware are just about done, kitchen things in!  Wooooo

I love the switches I picked, they go awesome with the metal robe frames and the wall tiles.  Hated the plasticy ones so we upgraded them.  You can rip off the coloured frames and swap them out for others in the range so I chose to mix the shades.
