Totally agree Fluffy but the thing that gets me the most is the Alfresco area he got 2 blokes for a whole week cut and jack hammer away this side because it wasn't straight, still not. Builder said it was out by around 200mm

FFS where is he running his string line from or how about invest in a laser line.

This side of the wall. Thank I <3 Bananas the brickie can run a straight line.

When we did our reno the blockie also showed up the skills of the builder and the concreter.

We had a concrete driveway crossover that the concreter never billed us for cos it was such an eye sore

Here is a pic of another stuff up.

There is a line in black texter pen on the wall to the right of the timber and a notation that it is 400mm above finished floor height.

there is also (2 besser blocks below) an arrow pointing to where finished floor height is.

besser blocks are 190 high.

The top of the formwork is about 3/4 of the way down the 3rd block

I never picked it till after the concrete was poured.

So the concreter had to add another 150 mm of concrete to the entire slab of double garage, hallway and study out of his pocket.

Wow man, dodgy tiles have got nothing on that.  I feel for you man, I'm stressing enough about cosmetic things, can't imagine what that is like.

Yeah that's horse sh*te pix, as fluff said custom build, I would expect a mint builder to be on the job. I think people take tradies for granted a little bit, it takes alot of experiance and skill to be a good one. You usually wont know it at first when you encounter one coz generally they wont make a fuss about how hard sh*t is or talk up how good they are. A modest tradie will usually be an excellent one. They are modest because they dont find what they are doing overly difficult, because theyre not retarded.. Its one of those things most people will be able to do, a minority will be exceptional.

95% of the time when I call my builder he never answers so I send a text out and again I'm lucky to get a reply.

E.G last week I called left message about his dumbass sidekick and the kitchen issues no answers, sent text no reply and this was done at 9am. So 6pm same day I called again knowing he'll be at home with family having dinner. He answered WOW

The only time I see him is if he is on site and that's not for long max 30-45min at one time.

I think I just might need to do what fluffy said contact Builders Ass.

Yeah pix...

To be fair I said to j@ the day u posted about the excavation fhuck up that I thought your builder was a knob jockey.

sh*t like slabs not lining up and sh*t is just not good enough tbh ... id honestly contact someone asap or else your just gonna lose more money.

Read through your contract again and see what the specs are in terms of timelines and f*ck ups when they occur but as far as im concerned the fact the slabs and bricks and sh*t dont even line up (by a sh*t load) is not good enough... and I wouldnt be paying for the excavation f*ck up or the kitchen f*ck up or frankly any f*ck up coz its not your problem!!! /p>

I think the biggest mistake some people make is having not enougg appreciation for a good tradesman but also too much for a sh*t one.

Dont ever be scared to really push the point mate... its your money!!!!

I really hope it gets sorted and u can just be happy and move in. I really do feel for ya!!!!
