It's alright I can't see it on my PC either. I saw something in the preview earlier about sparkologists and geologists...

Chatted to the tiler today, I walked in and shook his hand as I said the bad news to him straight up "Sorry mate this just isn't going to work."

Could see the concern appearing on his face as I followed up with "You drive an SS and this is a Ford house" hahaha.  Bloke had a series 1 VF SS ute parked up.  Got chatting about cars and the way Aussie Ford and Expensive Daewoo are dying off and ended up taking up like 2 hours of his time.  Took him for a spin in the T, he took me for one in the ute.  He's got basic mods to about 360hp at the wheels IIRC, sounded nice and went good for a work car as he said.

Seems like a decent intelligent bloke that cares about the job he does - which is really what I wanted to find out today.  Got a very good impression talking to him about how the bathrooms  will look after he's done, drainage (no puddles in shower) etc so it's good to be filled with confidence.  Hopefully he can live up to the expectations.  He said he'll call if there's any details we need to decide on along the way because "After all it's your house not mine".  He approves of our colour choices too and reckons it'll look a million bucks so that's encouraging hahaha.  Took f*cking long enough to decide with the missus...what a mission that was.

Unfortunately it looks like we'll need to pay the builder their exorbitant rates for tiling up to the ceilings for the ensuite as he's not allowed to do it now (understandable, builder wants their cut) and it would be a bitch of a job to do later on...I'd rather avoid the extra time and hassle.  He said the other bathroom would be easy for him to finish later though so that's good.

Took more pics of the stone top...I'm getting a bit more used to it now the more I see it but I will probably have a cabinet and stone company I do work for see if they reckon they can make the glue at least the same shade as the stone top...if the colour match is spot on I reckon I'd be happy.  It's very hard to see as is until you are up close.  Maybe I can just bust out the Derwents and do some colouring in >_>

Not a great deal has been on the house this week.

We have water connected to the site and the plumbers have put in all the storm water pipes. The garage and front retaining has been waterproofed.

I would like to comment to above post but can't see what they are, sorry guys. Last post I see is from Franga posted last WED

Some pics. Ya water

look im just a sparkoligist and im not a geologist but I could just go outside and take some photos of reasons why you want flexible couplings on those downpipes just above ground level. My ocd also wants you to change those 45's to one 90 and keep it snug to the wall/posts

Wow it never posted my post below the other day, just found it in the editing box after quoting the above!

There's lots of cement that will prevent a 90° from fitting sadly.  Had to hammer off enough of the footings to fit the 45° sections...flexible joints to avoid them getting stepped on and broken?  Or another reason?  I was thinking of building up around them, couple bricks or something in the short term jsut to stop them getting accidentally kicked when we have the housewarming party...these Ford drivers are all cadburys and will be falling over themselves quick smart.  Might even catch one with the Head Stabber 3000©

God damn forum bugs.  Wasn't showing the post before, plus it saved it in the editing field.  Oh goody!

steve nothing can be done now that the stone is finished

you only get one shot to get the colour matched, then about a minute or 2 to complete the join once the hardener is mixed in.

where do you draw the line though? some light conditions it may look fine, but in others it seems lighter.

the problem is the bench has mixed colours in it and stones. but the glue is a solid colour so will always stand out.

dw your not the only one to query it every one does except people who get black bench tops hahah
