There's also paving to come in front of it. Unless it's all paved but I am sure it's concrete. We need to concrete the alfresco ourselves since we deleted paving there. Planning on large slate tiles instead.

Jet and and I have started the ball rolling and I've started designing plans on a rough idea of a layout for a house. We've decided to use my lecturers' abundance of knowledge in building design and as well as architecture to spend the next couple years refining the house idea before building to make it the most energy efficient and best place we can while having the most cost effective build possible. Since I already have a sparky and a plumber and a bricky and a concreter as family/ friends I am hoping to do it as cost effective as possible. We've started looking at blocks ... Something around the 10-30,000m2 mark with a view over Adelaide in the hills (only 20kms from the centre of the cbd) there will likely be a slope but since I'm going to be the builder I am willing to deal with it for the rewards. I've always wanted an open space to work with. The original plans are a 2 story 5 bed home and I want to have an American style similar to this: My current plans are allowing for around 450m2 of living space then garage ontop of that ... Probably gonna have to make it a little smaller than that depending on budget it could end up a flop or a success lol time will tell over the next 2 years Edited 07/02/16 08:27 AM by Princess Whinginator

Since this is the right thread, I figure I'll ask in here. I just realised I want a sink in my future shed/garage/workshop that I will be getting done after handover of our build. We are currently finalising plans with the builder and I was wondering if I should get the drainage/plumbing done by the builder in an effort to save money in case it's a bitch of a job after handover.
