They would also mount to studs fine I would say Keith

I'm building a suspended bunk bed set up for the kids room and that's wall and ceiling fixed and going to carry children so a few speakers on the wall in the living area won't be an issue hahah

I do prefer the flush in wall look though

Ok so there's a very clear consensus do it right or do it cheap don't bother with middle ground..... Common theme in life

So I'll go and have another shot at a better audio store and if I come away with a cheap sound bar like the ones been posted for that under 1k mark coolies but if I decide I should go all out then I'll look into the ceiling/wall mount vs floor mount yarda yarda yarda

The Krix seem to get the nod a fair bit and this is a good thing because the reason my old boy ended up with a new set of floor standing ones was because he knew the bloke who either makes them here in SA or just the timber boxes ( can't remember if there made here or not ) but got them for SFA and I'm sure I can hit this bloke up also for a deal once I know what I want

Phewww this is a full on kettle of fish listening to music lol

Sometimes custom made furniture is cheaper.

The entertainment unit in my previous pic was custom made, the original one that matches the coffee table, lamp table and dining table was not able to accommodate my centre speaker.

I had a guy custom make one, a direct copy with a larger opening.

Original one was $1650 custom made one was $1200 plus $150 for the handles which I sourced myself.

And the custom made one is twice as strong

Can't go wrong with Krix Jet, Australian made and are known world wide.

Go look at the Yamaha soundbar and if you like buy it.

It will also give you time to plan and save for a concealed system.
