Not really k31th, you can get krix symetrix for about $600 each to use for left right and centre

http://www.krix.com.au/home-entertainment/concealed-audio/symmetrix.html

and atmospherix a20 in ceiling speakers for about $400 each to use as rears

http://www.krix.com.au/home-entertainment/concealed-audio/atmospherixa20.html

Then find a corner to place a seismix 3 (about a grand) and a decent amp and your done.

Jet is more than competent to install them so there would be no labour or install fee.

All up wont cost them more than $4500, will have a killer sound and will have a nice clean look.

This is what I will be doing for my next setup but maybe the higher range epix speakers (2k each speaker FML...lol)

if a $2,500 playbar+sub is on the expensive side, of course $4,500 is expensive. lol Edited by k31th

The best thing about concealed audio is the extra floor space you gain by not having chunky floor speakers.

Allows you to get a custom made on wall entertainment unit that looks very modern and is so much easier to clean underneath (I hate dust!!!)

Also with a 2 or 3 zone amp you can add speakers to other rooms or outside and control it off an app.

Technology has come a long way

But look at what you are getting for your money.

For a sound bar setup I would not spend more than 5-600 bucks

Agreed. He shouldn't spend any more than $600 :)

If he was an audiophile, he wouldn't be asking on this forum.

If he was an audiophile, he wouldn't be looking at playbars.

If you can convince him that $4,500 is worth it to him, then you're a far better sales person than I ever will be (that's not saying much, though :P )

Sorry fluff only just saw this thread, the wife loves our home setup but hates the look.

I don't mind but if there was a way to get decent sound and a cleaner look then I'm all for it.

Once we finish the pergola, outdoor BBQ/kitchen and pool the sound system will be next.

I am not a big fan of separate theatre/media rooms as I prefer my good gear in the lounge room where we spend most of our time.

The kids love watching movies so it will be money well spent.

I plan on mounting the current 70" on the wall for normal TV viewing and having a 110 - 120 concealed motorised screen that will come down in front of the TV for movie or big game screenings.

I just like giving people options, it always comes down to what they are comfortable with and whether they are willing to spend that kind of money.

But as their kids get older they will find that they will use it as a family more often and this is where I believe the value for money comes in to play.
