I have a 5.1 satellite system ive had for well over 10 years. still goes well, just upgraded the amp.I have something like this below but with a big fuker sub and the speakers are on stands.my room isnt big enough to warrant floor standing big speakers yet but it is on the cards soon. I think my original idea would suit you better even those speakers above are killer. I must admit floor standing speakers are fugly to look at esp if its seen from other areas of the house, they are better off in a theatre room imo. white satellite speakers on stands are discrete and you still get the cinema sound.
