why would anyone want a "ultra thin" playbar... lol, no length of travel in the source medium means no bass = no fun :) EDIT: didn't realise how much they're flogging these wireless audio products these days. no junk mail FTW

1. Set a budget

2. go to a stereo/hi-fi forum (I think this MIGHT be where you went wrong).

3. ask question there, stating budget and requirements of positioning/quality/music type etc

4. profit? (failed here, too... going over budget... maybe...).

5. Purchase recommended stereo :) done .

I struggle with one forum let alone a technical one hahah

I hear ya but we're a pretty diverse bunch and someone always usually has a pretty good insight into different things and wallah old stripernator comes in with the goods

I've been doing a bit of reading and I think this is the one but well over what I really want to spend honestly but ya can't win em all

LOL "well over what I really want to spend".

Just buy something within your price range :) If you use it only once a month then you'll be quite satisfied with something cheaper than a $3k playbar/sub/wireless setup.

Just sack up and buy it already JET, that's about as cheap as they ever get (even at my staff pricing, there's not a lot of movement in Sonos). $2k for Playbar and Sub = winning. Try it, then decide if you want to add some Play1 or Play 3 to the rears later. To put things into perspective about how fussy I am with my stereo gear, I have $1,000 earphones that are moulded to my ears and are, hands down, the best sounding headphones I've ever heard. I've also listened to some VERY expensive Hi-Fi setups...and I was impressed with the Playbar and sub combo when I heard it. I went in looking to buy a Sonos connect (either powered, or a separate amp) and some B&W CM1's or something for my bedroom setup, but when my mate suggested I could just get away with a Playbar and Sub, then demo'd it for me I was sold. VERY impressive for what it is.
