Set a budget2. go to a stereo/hi-fi forum (I think this MIGHT be where you went wrong).3. ask question there, stating budget and requirements of positioning/quality/music type etc4. profit? (failed here, too... going over budget... maybe...).5. Purchase recommended stereo done .

Try it, then decide if you want to add some Play1 or Play 3 to the rears later. To put things into perspective about how fussy I am with my stereo gear, I have $1,000 earphones that are moulded to my ears and are, hands down, the best sounding headphones I've ever heard. I've also listened to some VERY expensive Hi-Fi setups...and I was impressed with the Playbar and sub combo when I heard it. I went in looking to buy a Sonos connect (either powered, or a separate amp) and some B&W CM1's or something for my bedroom setup, but when my mate suggested I could just get away with a Playbar and Sub, then demo'd it for me I was sold. VERY impressive for what it is.
