I was going to be a bit silly and ask if you've got married yet... but it turns out you have (well... sort of ) haha, congrats mate.

Took me for a quick fang down the road in his F6 and holy f#ck, they don't call it a Ford Performance Vehicle for nothing. An extra 40kw is a noticeable difference lol

My path over the last 15 months:

- July 2014: Bought a crash-damaged BA XR6 Turbo ute. Standard 240kW.

- November 2014: Wanted more, so bought at auction a 2006 BF FPV Tornado. Standard 270kW.

- May 2015: Got the bug, so at another auction bought a 2007 BFII FPV Tornado. Modified 353kW at the rear wheels. Holy sh*t, that thing gets up and parties when you put that right foot down.

Huge amounts of time has been spent in the carport over the last 15 months.

It gets addictive. Heck, the original thought was, "I 'spose I could do with a cheap ute for an around-town runabout." So much for that idea.

There was recently an FG F6 ute for sale in Perth. The guy spent $27,000 on the driveline only a few months ago. 504kW at the rear wheels, rebuilt transmission, diff, etc. The whole package. $45,000. These days I dream about buying that. Not in a position to spend $45 on a car, though. I'm probably gonna try and track it down in a couple of years...

Ever had a ride in a modified one?

I can't say that I have although that will change soon as the same guy is getting work done to his and offered to take me for another ride to see the difference. It's getting me rather keen to mod mine but as the moment I'm reluctant to touch it as the car is still under warranty. It will be a big jump because I'm looking at spending enough to get me pushing between 300-350 at the wheels.

That's always the case isn't it. You buy a car and at first it seems relatively quick but after enough time driving it you simply get used to it and want more. Indeed it is an addiction. My dream car is actually a Nissan GTR and knowing how fast those things are, after doing some research even the owners say the car doesn't feel as quick as it did when they first got it and so they start modifying. Then again the GTR is so refined and has AWD so without actually driving one who's to say what the rush is like in comparison to a turbo Ford. Edited 21/10/15 08:04 PM by kokentoe

Now you've tasted that extra 40kw of power save your $$ from buying cheap ugly little cosmetics for your car (yes it looks good as is, just need tints) and get some go fast bits plus tune.

Do it right and you see 300ish at the wheels. The more you spend the more power you can get. You'll have more fun and take our word...........YOU'LL LOVE IT!!

Haha it's approximately 50000000 times the rush of a stock ford. my xr6t felt very very slow after a ride in a gtr..

But xr6t with 450+kw feel pretty crazy too and would be a lot more difficult to control than a gtr so there's that aspect.

Sounds like you are coming good. Save your pennies for power and handling mods, forget about the aesthetics, except tints in your case. f*ck off those tail lights, it's a black turbo falcon, it looks good enough as it is.

That's the plan. In order I will be doing the folowing:

1. Window tints

2. Suspension

3. Brakes

4. Engine mods

Already been quoted what it will cost to push 300 and it ain't cheap but as you said I will most definitely enjoy it to no end.

I can only imagine what it would be like. It's a shame I don't know anyone that owns one who could give me a demo. From a dig there isn't much that can touch a GTR but I'm sure a heavily modded T would be able to give it a run from a rolling start. At the end of the day I don't want too much power if I can't put it to the ground. I think I'll be happy with around 300, but we'll see lol

Wise choice on the order of future mods. These things have plenty of go stock, they need to stop and turn as well.

And there is a vid around here somewhere of Vevas FG beating a 600 od hp r32 gtr from a roll on....vevas car is pretty much at the pointy end of modified barras though..
