Ok sorted it. I dremeled this bold hole out so I could lower it by 2mm

now it sits 1mm off the actuator and 1mm off the block on the otherwise. It's tight but I think it will do

Ok new turbo is in and the car is with the tuner.

The first day of tuning didn't go so well. 98ron 18psi tune seems to have lost 15hp on the tune with old turbo??? its laggy and taking ages to spool up. Tuner thinks it may be the garrett actuator. I have 12psi garrett on the new gtx3582r while the old stuffed gt3582r had a turbosmart that seemed to have been adjusted up to about 15psi.

I thought I'd kill it. As part of the rebuild I put in a plazmaman turbo side intake, and kpm 1000cc injectors and of course the gtx turbo. Some how that has equaled less power , noting it is much hotting in Darwin now compared to when the last tune was done. But I thought the gtx would spool a bit quicker than the old gt. And give me 10% more overall.

Tuner is having another crack tomorrow, any thoughts guys on what's going on. With my mods I should get 370rwkw (in hot Darwin) but I'm now down to 320 ish.

I'll post the Dyno chart tomorrow when he is finished. In the interim if I'm chasing 18psi and 400rwkw is the 12psi actuator holding me back?

Ok so they did the water/meth tune today and that was also down. I lost 7rwkw. This is despite the new gtx turbo and turboside intake. As stated above it was hotter and more humid in Darwin now than it was with my last tune but I thought the meth tune wouldn't be that effected as it cools things down.

Here is my old tune with gt3582r and Herrod intake

What the hell. So much for the gtx being better. It feels heaps laggier than the gt3582r and less power!!!

Intake temperature.

Whats it saying for the air temp going in. What cooler are you running and what did the tuna say about the power loss.

I have a process west stage 2 cooler. Tuner said it was the air temp killing it.

Looking at the two graphs I appear to have lost 100hp at 3000rpm. It feels like a bloody NA until I hit 4000rpm. I don't get it. The gtx should spool quicker shouldn't it?

Just on the spool side of things, IMO the gtx would only spool better than a standard 3582 - gtx has billet (lighter) version of same compressor wheel

The 3582/gtx3582 has that larger front cover (0.7) hence slower spool than standard 3540 on BA-F XR6T and all F6's with 0.5 front cover

Comes down to setup and tune yes but rule of thumb...

Still something wrong with those numbers though
