Sorry guys for all of the recent posts but since I went to ford yesterday everything is going downhill.

I think my turbo is stuffed now! What do you think:

God dammit. Shouldn't this kind of thing happen slowly over time. Shouldn't I hear noise for a while before it gets to this stage! I checked my earls filter and it wasn't blocked! Is this from now oil or is it normal. My oil pressure guage was reading normal.

It was still boosting but I could here it stop quickly when I went off the throttle. This may sound like a noob question but what happens next? What's the risk of driving it, obviously not boosting it. What damage can I do?

I assume drags this Friday are a no go :)

Do I get it fixed or buy a new whole unit? If it's the latter then I suppose I should upgrade

Ok so I found a dude selling a gtx3582r brand new for $1500. It comes without turbine housing. Am I correct to assume that I can just use my gt3582 stock rear housing to fit this to it and just get an new actuator bracket?

If you dont want to retune it then replace the turbo core with a new garret core and set the preload on the actuator exactly the same.

This is as well as using you ported exhaust housing.

Anything other than this will require a retune to suit the new turbos characteristics,( different impellor ,front cover size, actuator setup blah, blah.

I'll definitely get a retune. The bigger question now is should I get the gtx3582r at this cheap price or buy a gtx3576r.

I've read all of the threads on this and the 76 is rated the best by you guys for street drivability and fast spool but only to 370rwkw ish without e85 (not an option for me but I have the water/meth).

I already have/had 367rwkw so does that put me out of the bracket for the 76?

I definitely like the sound of faster spooling. But this price on the 82 is good. Dam decisions decisions! I'd actually be paying more for a 76 as I could get the 82 cheaper!

Id get the big boy go all out... not like the gtx3576 is gonna get you much more power if you're already at that level.. especially if you have to stay on 98

Wouldn't 365rwkw in the F6 turbo feel slower than 365rwkw in the baby one? Well for speeds on the street below 160kmh perhaps?

Its a bit of a tough one, cause with the bigger gtx, it will be easy to go 400 (and run the risk of breaking more sh*t)...but I guess you can always tell them to run less power and have super safe boost levels....but why waste $$$ on a tune like that :P

For when your wife is driving the car or if you drop it off to fraud :)

I already have a built Zf so I should just break the tail shaft.

I spoke to gcg today and to PACperformance both offer complete bolt on gtx3582r for $2750 all ported and ready to go. I'm going for full bolt on as my local tuner said not to try to use anyone in Darwin to built one for me using the stock housing. No one knows what they are doing up here. I even called mtq in Darwin and they said to go through melbourne.
