...Just bolt on a APS phase III system put some good fuel in the tank tune the engine to 380KW at the wheels add the slicks and a little auto trans work and hey presto your ready to run a 10 second pass. :hiwelcome:

Peter,

Yes, add some racing fuel, bump the boost up to 20lb (you should easily get 380rwkw), have good slicks and trick trans, but you should really praise Vic, as he's a very skilled and experienced driver, and most of us would take a long time to master the quarter to his level of expertise.

No doubt that Vic is a good driver, though the driver counts for little if the car does not have sufficient power and the right combination of chassis, drive train and tyres.

When are you going to give your beast a run? To see how a manual trans car with 350Kw performs over the 1/4 mile. Would be very interesting to see the time and mph. :innocent:

Great times from such few mods. :innocent:

A quick question... You mention "good fuel" are you using pump fuel or something different?

Again, great work.

I am positive that the guys at Cand V would have some decent 100 ron premium unleaded for drag racing, as do most of the serious drag guys. :banghead:

Can we assume C16 & that the little trans work involves a high stall plus some other substantial mods?

Oh, btw Can you change the factory rev limit on a T with a unichip?

The rev limit can only be changed by getting inside the factory engine control unit. We do have a special UNICHIP device to raise the RPM limit on most factory computers, though we have not yet looked at the xr6t from this view point.

Its worth noting that lifting the rev limit on the xr6t with stock conrods would be a disaster, I suspect that the con rod would fail by 6000rpm approx. If you want to rev the engine above 6000 rpm I would recommend installing a set of stronger rods. :hiwelcome:

Peter,

I'd say I now have a car that would go close to matching 380rwkw using the racing fuel, but as I've told many people it's not the peak power (for bragging rights) that impresses me most, but a wide spread of strong torque.

The problem is that I really do not have the expertise to do the car the justice that it deserves in a drag race situation. I have no experience at all.

It would be good though to see what a good manual will do, compared to an auto. However, my point in the above post is that a good driver is just as crucial as a well setup car.

I feel that comparing Vic's times in an auto to mine in a manual would currently be a pointless exercise.

To be honest, I'm more interested in doing track days where I'll learn how to handle my car, how to brake, react to situations, and know it's limits.

However, I'm usually willing to try most things, so I'll do some research into what is required. I was about to buy another set of wheels for track days anyway.

No problem Brian, I just thought it would be interesting to see how a manual trans vehicle (xr6t) with a T56 would do over the 1/4 mile given how slow the T56 trans is on gear changes.

It should only take 3 to 4 passes to get a good run and a time slip, or maybe hand the car over to a more experienced driver if your not that comfortable.

It would really interest me to see the time and as importantly the mile per hour your car records. Its all good fun.
