Standard diff is the best. Plant it and spin into third in a straight line driving with your knees. Easy as. Haven't had a go in dons car yet with a true trac but if I did I would probably be drift king by the end off the night. :P

I prefer a mechanical LSD cause of the predictability. As Bizkets said, no hands and it stays straight.

Are the Eatons or these worm drives that unpredicatable. I have never tried one, if its harder to keep the worm drive LSDs straight or predictable then that is a bit of a worry.

Maybe guys who have had both can chime in.

hey mate, im running an eaton truetrac and its awesome. feels like a lot more power gets transferred to the wheels via the diff also, very quiet too

Does your stock lsd literally stay straight? Mine quite often needs a bit of steering to get it straight.. does that mean it's not locking properly or something?

Its never straight straight, you always need steering input, more confident straight where it is not going to do something stupid

Far to many variables for any diff to stay dead straight when spinning. Predictability is the major difference between an LSD and a Locker which is pretty much what a trutrac is. Same wheel speed either side means its far more likely to do what you want it to do or act in a predictable way according to road surface, camber or tyre loading. Clutch type LSD's tend to have a mind f their own particularly when worn, when new and shimmed nice and tight they are OK.

Why is mine so unfriggenpredictable then and what can I do about it??

I just swapped the oil out so I'll have a bit of a play in the next few days to see if new dyno juice makes a difference

Wavetrac!

/thread

With a true lifetime warranty and true torque biasing design, its won't just turn the wheel that lifts up like a trutrac. Far more predictable.

Do you have a Wavetrac installed demon?

Ok we went for a Harrop / Eaton true trac , apparently it's a bit stronger than a standard eaton true trac , it's ordered and should be at the workshop tomorrow with any luck , new gears and bearings to go with it
