Your bloke who done the inspection must of worked at the pits at Dutton park for contaminated brake and clutch fluid is a bit excessive unless the fluid is cream in colour and most of the rest you can source at the wreckers and save at least 20% and a few hours of labour by looking at the rear light and seeing why it's not working could be a cut in the wiring or fuse or the light is buggered as auto electricians aren't cheap either but if you have to then go for it but that in itself should save you a few hundred dollars but the bloke is probably hoping you'll go back and get him to do the required work and that's how he makes his money. Overall cost I don't know but at $80 per hour plus parts it will add up real quick

1,2,3,4,10 & 12 are all easy fixes and should see only 2-3 hours labour being charged, or if you do them yourself it's even cheaper

Manifold gasket isn't hard, just a pain in the ass

Engine mount is an easy job

Rear wheel bearing, prob easier just to get a second hand hub from the wreckers

Same for the seatbelt

The rear cradle will need to be dropped to do the diff and trailing arm bushes, looking at $600 - $1000 for that job alone

Over all not a bad list for an old car

Hiya mate

A lot of your list will be a good learning curve for you (if you are a bit mechanically minded)

Washer nozzle ...... chuck an air gun on a compressor and blow it through - from the bottle/pump. That should clear out the obstruction.

Wheel bearing ...... just had to replace the lhr on my car (FG G6ET) and it was quicker and a whole lot cheaper to find an entire good second hand assy from the wreckers....85 bucks. IF you would rather have yours fixed, the FG bearing price is around 150 or 290'ish for bearings and a new hub. Not sure if parts are different in your model car. Add about 2 hours + for labour to r&r and install new parts.

Any suspension bushes that are ripped/stuffed really should be replaced and that includes the diff bush........ if you're in VIC, hit up Pit Lane as they had a special going a while back.

As for the other stuff on your list, others will know more than me.

Good luck with it

Edit

Cos the car is a bit old, replace both engine mounts - just to be safe...... about 150 for genuine I think

Is there even a turbo to manifold gasket? Couldn't find genuine one on ebay?

I'm with Biz....thank f*ck we don't have RWC over here...that list is going to cost a decent bit of coin; especially if you have to pay mechanics to do the work.

Hope you bought the car dirt cheap :/ lol
