When I spoke to a tuner here in Perth, Monstatorque they said that the stock exchanger is fine for cooling performance and one of their high HP cars still uses it and runs fine.

Could it be just bad batches of coolers out there which is the reason some last for ages and some fail quickly?

Even though millions of cars use oil to air coolers, these are on the radiator which sits on rubber grommets

Am pretty sure it's happened with the ZF's as evenly random throughout the years and build dates of the Falcons.

Goes beyond a single batch - into the roll of the dice scenario.

Once out of warranty (or after any mods) the PWR is nothing more than insurance in case you get the bad roll.

$6k+ is a pretty decent wager to be betting against or to be covering against the house
