HP will also be going in the direction of flash boxes but not sure whether as an option or mandatory, I forgot to ask Eric that part

Flash devices are optional. We will always have the pass-thru cable.

Wouldn't it be cool if either SCT or HPT offered the ability to do closed loop boost control for the FG Falcon's? That'd be great I think, I'd be able to use my HPT device for something other than just mucking around with the ZF stuff.

I'm looking forward to use a nGauge with my Sniper software very soon ;)

I'm working on it.

Really? That's interesting considering neither SCT or HPT have the transient overboost table in the software for the FG I6T or the SCV8.

It's no secret boost control has been an issue with the FG, no doubt some have found a band-aid fix, where as I can control boost correctly with Sniper I cannot say the same about HPT, and SCT is missing key tables as well.

I am in the process of adding all the missing things.

Fark spewing, why didn't you get it handed over when Herrod took it over? Anyway regardless, the SCT software has progressed and things have been added and continue to be. There is some misinformation above!

I can get it sorted out by contacting SCT in the US, they've already said they can fix it by remote accessing my laptop. I cbf staying up late and making the call. Either way, I've seen my catchcode in SCT, it's missing stuff Sniper has.

Everyone, Eric Brooks has done a massive update to the FG Coyote tables and scalars. Things like T-MAP & Boost sensor calibration, gear based boost control, lost fuel and the list just goes on and on. There are things in this release that are not in SCT or Sniper so it is a big release for us self tuners. Here is a link to my post outlining the additions.

http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?54927-Eric-s-FG-BIG-update

His plan is to finalise this calibration and then roll it out to the rest of the FG and BF Falcons (well what translates anyway).

Way to go Eric and HPT :dancing:

Just had a play with the latest Hp Tuners scanner and editor. Wow. We can now datalog spark advance and retard (knock retard) in graph form. I.e Rpm vs Kpa. This allows you to pin point exactly where to adjust timing.

Heaps of new stuff in the Editor I noticed. High boost not a problem with map sensor calibration, more boost control tables, looks like they have sorted turning off traction control permanently.

You are not doing yourself any favours using SCT. Find a tuner who uses HP Tuner and is happy to leave the tune unlocked so it leaves your tuning options open. Locking tunes is no longer the way to go, it is selfish, costly to the customer and hides poor tuning. If you are a good tuner you will let others see your work, not hide it. Just buy it, you wont regret just being able to change small things in the tune and being able to pull fault codes.
