the fg is in bad need of diff bushes as she been clunking for a little while now. ive read about the superpro comforts and that if you have much more than stock hp theyll wear out quick also. I have a tad over 300rwkw so is the superpro hd the only option?

I dont particually want a heap of noise but if they are the best option for long life ill go with them and get some sound deading for the rear seats etc.

cheers kane

Depends on how good your diff was assembled (be it factory or aftermarket rebuild) I have superpro hd bushes in my near stock fg and the only noise I get is a humming dead on 80km/h, whilst a mate has a full moded fg with a trutrac centre and his is quieter then stock bushes with the superpro hd. I have a manual and noticed a significant difference when taking off from a standstill, it feels a lot firmer (in a good way) in the way it transmits the power and they have made the clunks go away as well as reduce axle tramp.

  • sweet im getting under it soon to have a look if its been changed before. the diff hasa slight whine at 90-100 but nothing a good oil change wouldnt fix id say.. so superpro heavy duty centre and same in the blade bushed?? reading the ba diff bush thread it looks like a good idea to drill big hole in the boot well to replace the bushes. make a little flap for next time then

Super Pro now have a bush in between the comfort and HD, called polylast. I'd have a look into those mate.

I thought it was only lwb sedans.

I'm glad that's not your cat. Rough as guts job that cut.

Could be executed properly and wouldn't be a bad solution

Don't drill a hole. You will find the front diff bushes should also be done like in my FG so you still need to take the cradle out. I am pretty sure the drivers side front is the one doing the knocking in my instance.
