The reason for asking is it would be cool to play with things like getting all the windows to wind down at once with 1 button press etc. I know you could hook into the canbus with a micro controller to achieve this but would be interesting to see if anyone has decompiled the PCM code and commented sections as I've seen with other ECUs.

With it not being a live tune ecu what are the main differences to how you approach tuning? Are there any threads you would recommend reading?

I signed up but no one replies to my threads there, not sure what the deal is. I'll read some stickies and see how I go playing with the demo software. Ordered the pro cable on Friday just need to sort out a wideband.

Cheers for the help

Does anyone have any XR6T tunes for HP tuners I could load up to have a look at in the demo software? There are lots of v8 files that come with it but I'd like to see the boost maps etc.

If you 'read' through the ford AU section on hp fourm, you will prob find tune files that people have uploaded

I found a few, it seems the options are quite different between ECUs, can you "upgrade" your PCM from that of another compatible car to allow the addition of other tables etc? Eg implementing your own "lean cruise" etc?

In regards to the wideband, I would recommend one with a gauge display. This way you can observe the airfuel ratios of the stock tune in normal day to day driving and understand more of where they are meant to be once you start playing with numbers.

The innovate has two outputs so you have one for the dash display and one for the laptop. I don't know much about others.

The other thing I would recommend is an external boost controller. Ralphy has a turbosmart one and its just alot easier to adjust boost by pressing buttons on the fly.

If you need a tune you can pop me an email. Once you get your HP Tuner Login there a tunes on the Tune Repository that you will get access to.

As a general rule you should match Ford tune strategys to the vehicle they came out of.. Each tune has a what is called a strategy number. Ford is always making little changes to the software and tunes during production. So you cant just go throwing in a tune from another vehicle and expect it to work.

For example I tried a F6 tune in my G6et. The engine ran fine but the transmission would not go out of first gear. A tuner that originally tuned my car put a tune from another FG into my car and it caused intermittent stalling and unusual gear changes.

What is the reason narrowband simulation is a bad thing? Is it hard to calibrate them to accurately replicate a narrowband?

Also if I get a second bung welded in my dump pipe should I be removing the sensor when I'm not using it, eg do they wear out faster than a narrowband?
