Cmhendo New Member 6 Member For: 9y 10m 16d Posted 29/07/15 07:48 AM Share Posted 29/07/15 07:48 AM Have a pretty stock BA xr6t, has xr8 pod style filter, hi flow cat and 2 1/2 inch exhaust.I bought a flash tuner with a 11 psi tune on it.Is this too much boost for stock internals?If so could I just regulate the boost down to say 8-9psi with a boost controller?If not what PSI should I ask for in a custom tune?Thanks for the help!Chris H. The tuner will take your goals and platform into account and give the car a healthy amount of boost for the amount of power the platform can cope with safely in the current configuration. Instead of costing you 2k for a custom tune, it is gonna cost you a whole new motor.Each car is different when it comes to valve springs. It could be that your car won't need them replaced to get to 300kw(example), where as another car would need it.I was lucky enough that I didn't need springs, but I plan on getting them done next for peace of mind.If you going to fit a high flow cat, then you need a custom tune.Fingers crossed all goes well for you.
