Yes mate. It was only coming onto boost at 4500rpm+ after repeated runs on the road. I also remember it only made 350rwkw on the dyno regardless of what Dave (blueboost, CPV owner tuner) tried and even then he said to the owner that he believed the port job was probably the culprit. The problems being for us up north is that Dave lives in Mackay 4hrs away from Townsville and at the time getting in to him with his mining job was a struggle so we fault find when needed (rarely) and he would email a test alteration!

The turbo in question, a GT3540 was bought from (now don't quote me on this) either DJKICE and that port job was done through a very reputable tuning shop which obviously majorly fcked it up! Pretty sure it's either as a door stop or a talking point for what not to do...

Also while I was skimming the net and before I forget...I'll throw this here for some probably common sense but often overlooked fault finding!

Actuator fault testing-

Stretch the Wastegate Actuator Rod Open with Your Hand, While the Wastegate Actuator is In this Position (Open position) Then Put your thumb Over the Nipple to not Allow air to Leave the Wastegate Actuator. If The Wastegate remains in the Open Position, then that means that the Wastegate Diaphram is still in good shape.

if the wastegate is hard wired shut, it eliminates a dodgy port job unless it is held open or the port extends past the actual flapper, I'm sure you would have checked it was closed though before wiring it in that position.

Along those lines ratter.....

Is it possible for the flapper arm to be bent?

Therefore, even though the actuator is in the closed position, the flapper may not be sitting flush because of a bent arm -- or am I just asking dumb sh*t questions now coz that can't happen?

The bush inside the housing that the arm rotates in can wear out and then make the flapper disc sit uneven a little on the port hole giving a less than ideal seal.

Never ran. Street only. Dynomite performance tinkered with the whole project. Not a problem. On their dyno at 19psi it hit 454rwkw. Flapper ported. Last dyno tune about 4montgs ago.

No to all the above for starters and yes it was wired shut not open... lol. The flapper on all makes and models have some play at the flapper itself where it's pressed onto the arm but this was not the problem and as I said the problem was a major fck up with the porting...MAJOR!

If anyone knows where djkice was from than I can probably name the shop that either did the work or had the work parted out to so either way in the end they are responsible for the job at hand because I know that he had that turbo swapped for a bigger one as he wasn't happy with the power when in fact all along he either knew the port job was fcked or the tuning shop told him bullsh!t to cover up their mistakes!
