Peter,

I understand the intent of the thread, I have such a leak near my turbo ... my comment was directed at the last option on the poll. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but what the hell does the HgAg colour have to do with oil leaks from the turbo?

Yes mines had an oil leak from this area, not sure but they had to order parts for it, whether it was the oil line or seals.

Mind you the same ppl had to replace the sump cause they stuffed the plug thread.

I know, 2 equally correct answers made it very difficult to choose how to vote.

Ken24T, I have seen a number of xr6t turbos with a very small leak at the oil supply line, this should not occur and maybe the oil supply line has a small imperfection.

I will see the head Garrett engineer who is responsible for the xr6t project later this week so I will discuss this issue with him to get current feedback on the problem. :innocent:

I'm interested in hearing what the Garrett engineer has to say, Peter.

Don't worry about the brain fade ... it happens to all of us sometimes and to Cro and Falchoon all the time.

After I have a chat to the engineer I will post what I have been told, or that is what I am allowed to post in a public forum. I must be getting old maybe that explains my colour choice also. :innocent:

There is probably an awful lot wrong with these people.... but damn, they have a great sense of humour!

KEN....do you hear that sound? tis the winds of change...the revoulution is coming, you and your lamington eating Haag cohorts days are numbered. VIVE LA REVELOUTION.(insert maniacle laugh here). :banghead:

I also take a certain perverse pleasure in the fact that, it was your thread about the problems sorted at your last service, which lead me to wonder how many others had this same fault.... it will be interesting to read Peter's response.

It seems we have yet another reason to doubt the old

"never seen that before" rhetoric from the service manager.

Yes our work car has the same leak. If I work it hard to get someone and then its idling for a minute whilst im talkng I can smell the oil burn on the exhaust. It was dripping a 50c piece a day a while back but they fixed that but this problem is recurring.
