Hi Guys,

First post so be nice.

My FG Xr6 Turbo is having the typical exhaust leak issues. I've taken off the heat-shield and checked all bolts which seem to be tight. None are missing. I want to take it too an exhaust place for them to have a look (Penrith Muffler Man which is closest to me).

My question is while I am there should I get a quote for an exhaust or should I leave this for the tuning stage? Theres a few other small issues I would like to get sorted before taking it to get a tune.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Bolts from the cartridge to the rear exhaust housing are hard to get to. I had 2 missing (only had few months) you sure there all tight ? Ford didn't wanna do mine under warranty due to I got it serviced elsewhere, tried to charge me 1000 to tighten and replace two. Took it out myself and the housing bolt holes had cracks in the bolt holes as well as the flapper hole. I'd be triple checking, exhaust place near me wanted $150 an hour and wouldn't give a rough quote.

You can get a quote...but dont put the exaust system on until just before tune.

Im sure you know that already though :P

Hope you're rich....dont see it being cheaper than aftermarket systems

Hey Guys,

Just getting back to you to say I took the intake pipes/heat shield off when I finally got the chance and was able to tighten up all the bolts.

Fixed the problem 100% which is awesome!

While removing the intake pipes I noticed that the tube that feeds inner had a hole which looks to be melted through but still doesn't seem to be any leaks. All I can think of which might have caused that would be the actually exhaust leak.

Let me know any thoughts.
