Can anyone here tell me if the TCM from a zf that has the milkshake is ruined? I know the rest of the box and valvebody is contaminated But the TCM should be a sealed unit as its submerged in hot fluid all the time. Anyone know?

I had contact with a place that rebuilds ZFs and he said they reuse them. He may have been crapping on cause I thought there were issues with them after milkshake. I would say if you get to the box quickly that there might be a chance. A box sitting around with water in the oil, dunno.

I can understand the solinoids being ruined. But the valvebody I think would be able to be opened up cleaned out and rebuilt. And the tcm should be a sealed unit I would think. Im wanting to buy another box and basically just transfer the tcm from my milkshaked box into the new one so that it will link back up with the rest of the car and run.

It's not like everyone that HASN'T had one fail posts a thread about it though, so your less likely to hear about the good ones.

Having said that, I had the PWR exchanger installed :)

I got the PWR unit installed in March after reading all the doom and gloom stories. The only thing I do notice, is I hear a bubbling from underneath the gear knob/bottom of the center console area, first thing in the morning or if the car has been sitting for a while, which I'm guessing is the fluid going from the ZF to the heat exchanger?

I also got the ZF serviced by Monsta Torque when they did the PWR install, which made a huge difference in shift smoothness and no more clunking when dropping back into gear every so often.
