bad inferno Member 130 Member For: 19y 4m 25d Posted 06/07/15 01:14 PM Share Posted 06/07/15 01:14 PM I now have a choice, genuine ford FPV rims 8"F / 9"R or aftermarket copy at 8"F / 9.5"R. The copies are also $700 cheaper (which I know is not a lot )I currently run the XR50T 19x8 245/35/19. I was wondering if I went the 9.5" rear could I go a 275 or 285/35/19 and 245/40/19 as I would like to get a little more comfort than the 35's are providing at the moment. This can easily be changed through your tune or local Ford dealership? Also want to confirm....when people say 19s are harsher/ not as good performance wise...would this opinion change if you stuck to the same sized tyres? I.e. going from 245/40/18 (F) + 275/35/18 ® but then changing to 245/40/19 + 275/35/19 ... therefore sidewall would be the same?

Personally, for the cost you can pick up the genuine ones now I'd just run with those. Either way you won't get enough tyre on the rims for what would be ideal to tame the power these cars can run.Oh and 18's will give better ride quality coz you can run a higher profile tyre (I.e. more sidewall), if you're wanting to stick within legal guidelines, than if you run 19's. Cause on the calculators it says you must be within + or - 3%.... is that Australian LAW (cause I thought that had to do with how much your speedo would be out).Edit: maybe has something to do with brake failure? or maybe just BS?
