My car has 393rwkw and I kept the cross over what I was wondering does a turbo side intake and battery relocation equal more power or is it for turbo noise and something people just do for the looks basically is there any big power gain from doing it that way compared to the cross over and herrod CAI .... Cheers

Pretty sure it's all noise from a turbo side intake.

Might be different scenario if going for big hp and running a larger turbocharger.

I run stock intake pipe route with a growler air box, 399rwkw.

There is power gain due to the increased size of the intake itself (generally 4in tapering to comp housing size) the and the shortness of the intake. Air is cooler also which makes a power difference even if it's a little one...

Simple tests (which I have help do and seen done also) include on a dyno do an initial run when at operating temps then undo the standard intake box (4-5 clips and lift up the intake to face into the fan and do another run, this will show an initial leaner mixture down low with an increase in spool and overall power (I'm not sh!tting you) and finally remove the pipe off the compressor housing so that there is no intake or restrictions and run it again... Watch and see!

None of that is tech-a-nogical now is it so easy as p!ss to do!

Turbo side will def give a bit quicker spool - if that's what you're after

Ok thanks for the replies , so if there is a gain its only minimal so ,not enough to warrant a retune , it's mainly a noise thing
