Bible hey. Unfortunately I watched a documentary the other day that informs that the bible is copy and paste from many previous religions from thousands of years prior (Egyptian times).

The story of the profit and his teaching at 30 years old is one example. And mostly when these religions talk about the "son" they are actually talking about the "sun"

Zeitgeist ?

The bible it picked to sh*t by a lot of different things

But it's the never ending cycle because no matter how many times u tell a devout follower of any religion that they may be wrong .... They will use the fact that God is using that as a test of their faith Blah blah and your back to square one.

As I've previously said I feel religion is used by people who don't have the strength to face the concept there may be no Devine ending or answer for our world, or for people who have been raised as a religious person. It's very rare u meet a religious person who hasn't been raised in that belief system, or turned to it at a hard part of their life, no one says "sh*t my life's going awesome, I wanna learn about being a Cristian and thank god for all this hard work I've done to get here"

And in all fairness it helped my nonna throughout her cancer and when she died she died peacefully thinking she would be taken to heaven by her God, her one and only father. She was the kindest most honest and faithful person I've ever known and went to church almost every day of her life with the exception of when she was lying in her bed dying of bone cancer, suffering daily with an immense amount of pain (thanks for that one God!)

I wear her cross with her chain around my neck most days, and a madonna she gave me when I was born, but not for religious reasons, because she meant the world to me and if that's what made her life more positive then she can go for it.

And I won't lie, the other night a part of me wanted to say a prayer for the guy in the crash, knowing that maybe his spirit was floating around me somewhere. As he was taking his last breaths I felt the need to do something, my nonna would have, and every time I walk into a church I still do the whole cross on my chest thing, more as a sign of respect for others beliefs, but I still believe that my urge to pray was because religion is a coping mechanism, and I didn't know what else to do at that point.

I know I came across very negative while commenting on religious matters previously, but I think it's because ignorance irritates me severely and I was also drunk lol

The fact of the matter is, if you chose to believe, and you don't push that belief on others, or let it effect others lives in a negative way, then go for it.

But what really starts to sh*t me is when people make their kids believe and if they rebel they don't speak to them anymore, or when they make their child die because of medical treatment available they won't give them, or for that matter kill or hurt anyone because they don't believe what you do. If u wanna die that's your choice, don't kill someone else because of your beliefs.

And it gets to me when people criticise other religions when they them self are religious. Like u know those people have been as manipulated as you and are just believing what they chose to, just like you!

I do think it is very ignorant of anyone to believe one religion, and I do believe it's very ignorant of anyone to believe devoutly that there's no god either.

The actual fact is, not one single human on this earth can say with any certainty that they know the answer 100% factually, because no one does, it's just opinions, factually based opinions and faith based opinions, but just opinions none the less.

Believe what u want, be happy, don't hurt anyone else with your beliefs and be the best person u can be..... That's all we can ask for.

Ah ok never heard of it. Where do you guys stand on the whole blood thing? And ex followers?

I enjoy respectfull debate. And as long as we dont force beliefs on each other then me and whatever wont have any problems.

Probably why I respect buddhists soo much. They just chill (well most of them)

By the "blood thing" Im assuming you are talking about blood transfusions and such.

Im in the " fill me up with some blood if I need it" crowd, and if I had kids, they would definitly be getting blood if they needed it!

I gave blood once, but because I was in the UK during the mad cow episode they didnt want it. could have asked me the question before they sucked it out of me. :ermm:

I suppose I should go back and see them about giving, as Im not a mad cow (just a God botherer) :wwww:
