Gun808. What you have done is fine. You took out the return restriction in the fuel pump cradle and you lowered the pressure so that the pump flows more. If you dont take out the restriction you cant lower pump pressure.

Basically when injectors and/or pump are at their limit of the power target, you can play with the pressures to get to where you want. Sure lowering the pressure will give you more pump and less injector but its a balancing act to get you the max power with what you have.

Cheers mate for the advice.. im pretty sure u had commented or offered knowledge on the thread where I got my inspiration and idea to change reg..

The reg I have used is a drop in blueprinted 4bar reg (centre picture) as per good advice from a few other threads here..

I didnt take a comparison photo cause I was in a hurry but this photo is from another thread showing the diff between the size of the return hole which is a major restricting point in the system as all the system has to return thru the factory pinhole.. doing it again id do the drop in adjustable reg (right picture) that fits into the factory spot so there is a touch more adjust-ability or bung up the factory reg and plum in an after market into the 5/16 line..

I'm trying to help, not argue, but you being vague with what you drilled leaves a real doubt about what it will do

My apologies for being vague.. im being vague because as said I dont actually know what was done 100% ..

My friend did it at his mechanics shop on the bench while I was there and I dont know what the components are in a cradle..

All my previous fuel systems have been external and this is the first car iv had that uses a cradle and intank setup..

You have not improved pump flow at all with that reg, just corrected the high pressure at low rpm problem, still concerned about your swirl pot mid though, I would be checking with him to find out

I thought I was done with this but here goes..

SO

improved flow and decreased pressure at low rpm ?? yeah ?? and u say that has NO bearing on overall pressure and flow of the 044 ??

so decreasing FP and being able to lower the scaling of a restrictively high base FP has ZERO impact overall with flow u reckon ??

AND thus the lower the FP as a base rate at low rpm therefore lowers the rate at max rpm after a rising rate increase true ???

so lower base rate add 20psi from boost and u say there is no difference from a stock reg ?? lol

next time u have a piss try pissing thru a straw and then change to a toilet roll and tell me this has NO impact on the pressure out the other side... :/

Mick im sure uv seen something like this before....yeah ?

A drop in FP with the relevant 044 from 100psi back to 60psi INCREASES flow about 25%..

so your telling me iv not had ANY increase in flow by lowering my base pressure ?? iv already stated my tuner noticed a decrease in the stable base pressure he was able to achieve with relevance to the old setup and of others he has seen without the reg change..

get over the cradle mod.. regardless.. iv explained myself there...

im out .. I will fill u in on my results.. thanx for your unconstructive and mostly negative unhelpful criticism..

you are lost in your thinking, you have installed a 4 bar reg you have not changed your delta pressure at all,

just corrected the excess flow issue,

if you changed to a lower pressure reg then the chart you have posted starts having an affect but you said you fitted a high flow standard pressure reg.

There is alot of miscommunication going on here. Its a bit hard to explain in writing so lets all go down to the strip club and talk about it.

Well we own 3 so take your pick Brisbane, Mackay or Townsville :D lol
