WTF. Really

Great work

You win the plug hole of the week award Bellato

Care to elaborate? Is it the angle of the car when draining oil? I've always done this on my BA and FG and this is the first time I've had a problem. This was the way my old man taught me and he has been doing it like that for 30 years n never had a problem

Hahahah. Wtf.

I do it laying on the groung. Easy as.

Dry oil filter. No way.

I always half to 3/4 fill the oil filter and put a little bit on the rubber o ring.

I don't fill the filter but I lube the o ring before putting it on.

No way I can do it without jacking the car, wouldn't even be able to get my arm in to where the sump bolt is

If u have to jack the car pull the filter and plug then lower the car to drain

The sump plug is in the lowest point typically on any car so it can drain all the oil out but has to be level not jacked or jacked level all round

Think about it

Makes plenty of sense thanks! I just figured as well as being at the lowest point on the car it was also so far back on the sump that it would drain all the oil even with the front jacked up

I now know that's not the case and will change how I drop the oil from now on

cheers

I have a hoist and I still prefer to use the extractor. Cylinder is graduated so you can monitor how much is removed. The first two times I used it I dropped the sump plug out to see if there was any residual and it was minimal.

Go all out and install a remote filter arrangement and never jack up the car again for an oil change

ralph ,I also got one of those .after stuffing the helicoil in the au sump . I used to sucked the oil out of the dip stick hole so the new thread I put into the sump would not fail (only aluminium ) . it is so easy to use
