Hey, I have installed a manual boost controller, and tried to install a boost gauge off the hose off the POV.

Not being able to put the T joiner in because hose is very hard and no stretch.

My question is. Will / can I do damage with that hose not bring connected.

FGT 10.

Cheers

Curious, am I doing the right thing with the boost gauge, a T piece off that hose connected to the gauge hose ?

Why wont the manual controller work. as its connected to the turbo outlet hose

All new to me so any advice is appreciated.

Cheers

The PC,will spot the increase in boost and use it's control strategies to pull it back in line. These cars are a little too smart for simple mods.

Yes you are plumbing the gauge into the correct port.

Again about the gauge, do I have to get a different hose, as there is no way I can put the T piece on, I have tried heating with boiling water and flame.

with out any success.

What do you recommend ?

Do you know what PSI is standard on 2010 FG ?

As I only want to run about 11.5 PSI.

Without hose will it cause any damage ?

Cheers

Assuming you have already cut the hose to the bov you are going to have to persist with some heat. It should soften up. Otherwise just run a new line if you have completely butchered it.

As for the manual boost control.....Stop what your doing with that...throw it in the bin and do some research on these cars. It has closed loop boost control and will not work in conjunction with a manual controller...which are sh*t anyway and deliver a gay boost curve even when they are working properly. Even if u bypass the solenoid, boost cut is 12psi on an fg I think. Your going to hit that regularly with a manual controller chasing 11.5. Not to mention running extra boost without a tune is going to end in expensive tears.

If you want more power, minimum you can do on an fg would probably be injectors and tune only, stock cat is probably going to see a sub 300rwkw figure and without an intercooler upgrade heat soak is going to be a big issue...it is on a stock car as it is. If you do cat and intercooler add a fuel pump and reg to get the most out of the setup.

Could maybe get away with, injectors, vcm tune, and a high flow cat welded into stock exhaust for around 2k and maybe push close to 300rwkw but your pushing your luck with the stock fuel pump. Also the plastic pipes don't really like more boost so a pipe kit is also a good idea.

Barns,

Thank you so much. I will take the manual controller off, get a new Bov hose.

I only wanted the gauge to see what it was running.

Will a new BOV improve performance at all, if so what one should I get?

I'm not after noise.

So there is no real cheap way of improving performance, without risk of damage?

No a bov won't improve performance, and doesn't need to be upgraded unless pushing a fair bit of boost.

No a few thousand dollars isnt cheap to anybody really but in the scheme of modifying cars for a safe extra 60-70 kW at the wheels, its cheap.
