The VF A6 is as much of a step up as the VE-VF jump

The ZF still feels more confident in regards to handling big power but anything over 400rwkw with an A6 doing the shifting will always be a piece of string situation

I never owned a VE A6 but by all regards they were junk but this VF A6 feels equal to zf shifting style

Except..... The VF A6 does blip the throttle on manual down shifts and it's farking nice lol

Very impressed haha

If you haven't driven a VF, do so if you get a chance - they are a bloody good car if you can sit your allegiance to the side and judge it on merit. Notably, the interior and ride sh*t all over the Falcon. The ZF as we all know is a magic gearbox, but the new A6 in the VF range is as good IMO - the rev matching on downshift in sports mode is addictively good and it's miles ahead of the VE auto. I had a 2012 SS ute and the auto was "OK".

No more new performance utes really after next year, so whatever I get next may have to hang around for a while instead of my usual 12 - 18 months changeover.

Yeah I have driven a few VF's, are as I said I think they are a massive jump on the VE's in all respects. Gearboxes definitely drive and feel better, but I meant a little more on the power side. When you put some solid power in them do they really work well?

Yeah the R8 II with the supercharged LSA engine would definitely be a nice car to drive...

I have driven quite a few rental SV6 VFs and as far technology and refinement goes, they are a really nice car...

If I can compare the SV6 to the XR rental cars I have driven...the SV6 seems zippier down low, but doesn't feel as torquey as the XR on the HWY...

The Late model camira is a much nicer car to drive, as you feel like you're in a very up to date car...while the Falcon feels like it's a generation behind...

If the Late model camira V6 ever came out with a twin turbo motor, I dare say it would have had the same cult following as the XR6T...

I reckon you'd be right, providing you could get some good power out of them without them going *bang* But with no more 8's after all this they are gonna need a high powered turbo 6 otherwise holdens gonna lose a loooooooot of aussie car lovers.
