To undo the filter Isn't one nut anti-clockwise (rear most on line) and the other clockwise (front on line nut)? Also depending on who your mechanics were mine were all cross threaded as the stock filter is steel and so is the on line nuts. I didn't have a die set so bought an alloy fuel filter and just threaded it on, started the car and nipped it up until it stopped leaking!

Mechanics and their ape arms...

Hopefully Ralph will correct me if im wrong....but a while back I think he said something like every oil change if running e85 (cleaning an afternarket filter that is)...then once per year if using OEM (which I assume means every 20,000kms) for stock on 98?

So maybe every 2nd oil change for you Bizkarnt?

But this is only speculating :P

Yes this is my opinion. At least till you can determine the quality of the e85 you are buying and also the state of your fuel system (ie residual gunk)

Buzkut for my money the large speed flow 10mic units are the go. Competitive price and very large surface area compared to some of the other aftermarket and drop in replacements. They do require the use of an hard-line adaptors though.

Do you have to trim the fuel line to suit that one. Cutting/fuel= phone call to shannons

And im only using 98 until I upgrade a few things again.

Yep, even with Aami I wrote the car off and it was modified to the ass with which I can't remember ever telling them and they didn't give two hoots!

Stock one looks pretty easy to change.. tuner did mine in 30 seconds or less with the stock ford one

Was on hoist though

I believe they recommended changing it every 20k km with a car tuned on 98

When he tipped mine into a tray it was dirty black fuel coming out but that had done up to 110,000km

I changed mine with 30000kms on the clock and the front nipple was cross threaded at the factory thank good for thread files didn't have a die big enough. The fuel was dirty coming out of it so I cut it open to find the what should of been yellow paper was black. Standard tune car and always on 98 will do it every 15000kms now
