Hi,

I'm a newbie, about to get my first XRT under a finance lease. Have owned

a Rover, a couple of Honda's, two Mitsubishi's and a mod'ed WRX (current

car). I'm now in the process of choosing colours, trim and options.

Have decided on the following :

XR6T auto, plated 2004

Mercury-Silver

Premium Sound

Alarm Upgrade

Mats

Flaps

Towbar

Window Tinting

Under my lease I can get the above for approx $41500 inclusive of on roads,

25000km petrol, insurance and servicing. An absolutely great price I think !!

Am wondering about the 18" wheels ... are they worth the $1500 extra ??

Is the ride noticeably firmer ???

What other options do people think worthwhile ?? I will be selling the car

in 12 months and upgrading to another new car so am looking at resale

value so don't really want options that I won't get back on resale ...

Thanx in advance,

Cary

Cary, :finger:

Now if you were the "run-of-the-mill" NEWBIE ( :oooh: ), I'd be dumping it on you from a great height right about now (:finger:) ... however, I can't help but notice you have order a "superior" HgAg (Hg=Mercury, Ag=Silver) preciouss ...

hmmm, Welcome to Team HgAg my friend, come on in and help yourself to a lamington and cool ale. What size leather thong should we order for you?

Cary,

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I have changed a few cars over after leases and I believe that you will not get the money back that you spend on a bunch of options. I have the theory that the options list is the nice bits you want and have not direct effect on the resale value.

Apart form maybe premium sound. :finger:

My 2cents worth.

Oh by the way

Quick will someone save Cary from the dredded team HgAg :finger:

Do I need saving from Team HgAg ??? I was originally looking at Acid

Rush but was told is wasn't available anymore. Was also looking at Blueprint and Phantom but decided on HgAg as it was understated

and elegant and everybody like's silver don't they ?????

Yeah, am tossing about what options to get considering I'll only have

it for 12 months. 18" wheels are nice but I guess I won't anywhere

near that amount back from them. The towbar I got as it's practical,

ditto with the window tinting. The mats and flaps protect it so I

thought they'd also be worth it. The premium sound is a must I think

as it has to be fitted at the factory rather than the dealer ?

If I was you I would add premium stoppers to your list

to not only stop the T , but to keep the shudder bug away as well

 Cary - I was going to give you a warm welcome until I noticed the color. Do you really wish to join a group of old men wearing woolly cardigans, as is reknowned for all HgAg drivers ?

Come on, go for a more vibrant color, you won't regret it.

Oh and by the way, Welcome to the forum. :finger:

What is it about HgAg ?? I'm sure they aren't all cardigan wearing men ??

You're all so passionate about the COLOUR of your car .... and I thought

WRX owners were mad ... you've should see some of the things the

WRX forum said about me wanting to defect to an XR6 !

Welcome,

Al I can say is that Harvest Green is one of the best colours available. As I lease most of my vehicles as far as options go the premium sound is a must and also consider the electric adjustable pedals as it will be a good selling point for anyone wanting to get a good driving position............

Well, it is too plain a color for such an awesome car

Hmm, better let Ken answer that

We are, and that is why there are so many color threads on this forum. If I liked any other color, then I wouldn't be driving a blueprint.

Just think of how jealous they will be, when they see you driving a new XR6T (regardless of the color)

I'm sure we will forgive you on the color as soon as you post some pics :finger: when you get your new beast. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Yes, can't wait till I get it .... I'm was going to ask for a delivery date

of late March as I thought there'd be quite a wait but having spoken to a couple of dealers, they said they have immemdiate stock of 2004

plated turbos !
