Hello Forum Members,

I was wondering if anyone can possibly assist me. I noticed the other day that my passenger side puddle/courtesy light (Not sure if that is the correct term for it) was not working. Car is an FG G6ET 2010 Nov. I called Ford to ask for replacement bulb however was told they do not stock it, and to try Repco or super cheap. The original bulb is a General Electric bulb part # GE 7546F, 12v 5w. Today I brought a replacement from Repco that was almost identical to size, I think maybe 1mm off however clipped in perfect and is the same watt and voltage. Please see attached photos for an idea what light I am talking about.

I changed the bulb with the new bulb but still the left door trim light will not turn on. I am thinking that it may now be a fuse or something else. If it is a fuse, any idea where it would be located? Any help is appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Jack

Unlikely there would be a fuse just for the single globe so if your interior light and other puddle light is working I'd discount a fuse.

Check the wiring to the globe holder and make sure it's securely fastened to each terminal. Also make sure the globe is clipped in and touching both metal contacts in the bulb holder

From memory having door skins off in past, the wiring for that light has a connector.

The connector pulls apart when you take door skin off.

Check that connection is making contact properly.

I will go visit Jaycar next week.

If you're interested in brighter interior lights then get some LEDs while you're there.

The LEDs that I've got in my Tornado and taxi took seconds to swap over.

The plastic holder for the map lights just clips out from the roof. You'll see what to do easily enough once you've done that. Wash your hands first to avoid leaving greasy marks on the roof lining.

The centre roof light - the plastic cover comes off easily.

Those particular Jaycar LEDs are waaaayyyyyyy brighter than the original globes. There are duller LEDs, so make sure that you take those part numbers with you.

All I did was replace the gloves with the Jaycar LEDs. Nothing else to do. You could have all three done in about one minute.

The globe in the centre roof light gets rather hot (ie you remove it with your fingertips), so as soon as you open the car door turn the interior lights off.
