Done.

Car across the pits yet?

Nup.

Had a solution lined up for this week, but couldn't get an inspection booking.

Might have another go at it on Tuesday.

As I'll keep repeating to everyone for the next decade: DO NOT EVER GET A YELLOW STICKER ON A MODIFIED FALCON.

When I get this thing licenced I'm gonna weld the $&^# bonnet shut so that no cop can ever see the engine bay.

May 2015: Saw the BFII Tornado listed on Pickles again. The previous buyer didnt have the money, so the car was listed for sale again. Just like the previous Tornado, I obsessed and bought it.

Unlike my past two cars, this one wont require a huge amount of immediate repairs before I can drive it.

Or impulse buy auction cars un-sighted over the other side of the country that require rego :P

The end result will be worth it, but this one has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy more complicated than I could have ever expected.

The list of workshops that do inspections is changing regularly. DOT recently stopped Complete Cabs in Welshpool from doing inspections.

I downloaded the PDF list yesterday, and there are several removals and additions when compared to a list from a few months earlier.

DOT has really spat the dummy this year. That has become very clear from the conversations that I've had with mechanics who are authorised to do inspections.

Maybe I should have kept this thing licenced in NSW for the first 12 months after all (ie then it can be transferred to WA without an inspection).

Phil,

Bring both your cars to me, for $65/hour I will swap the bits over to get the car sorted for inspection.

You organise a car trailer/retune for factory tune, get it finished.

Cool.

I'll meet you outside the inspection place and you can quickly chuck the standard dump pipe, cat and intake manifold on in the carpark.

And then put the good stuff back on as soon as the inspection is done. :shifty:

What suburb are you in?

I've just left the Tornado with a transmission place in Welshpool so that the guy there can have a look at it tomorrow. Transmission is slipping and generally being impolite. Hopefully it's just something simple - blocked filter.

Car wont run once those bits are changed, that's why I said you need a car tailer for a touch up tune.h

Also based on the limited comments you have made re gear box, have a feeling you might have spun 3 and 4 clutch pack.

Doesnt take much once you start putting torque through the box, add flat shifting to that and its a small area absorbing a decent amount of torque

Stupid phone signal deciding to drop out after receiving your SMS .... Wifi is good lol

Ok - I may have a mildly beefed up ZF available to me and thus you soon, currently had a 529rwkw tune on it, only replacing with a built box before going for a 9 second pass. Gearbox is perfectly healthy

I'll find a price for you

For our regular viewers: I just got word that the transmission is stuffed.

Bugger.

I've got one lined up cheap, but it's a non-turbo one. The only difference is something minor in the clutches.

I've finally committed and booked the car in for an inspection next Thursday. 'Spose I'd better have the transmission sorted by then.
