Rollex, I would say come for a drive in my car to compare, but I know you are not in Perth.

All manuals will do this especially if you have changed the diff bushes.

I have the nolothane bushes in there and if you don't caress her, guess what.

It is all about driving styles mate.

If you don't give it a bit of load and disengage then you will get that clunk from the drive line.

I am use to it already and always get around it.

Two solutions really:

Drive it like it is stolen

Keep foot on accelerator a bit while disengaging.

So the tougher bushes are what causes it? I guess that is still better than using the stock ones and having them flog out every 2 seconds.

Roll on Roll off

Roll on the the throttle and off the clutch when taking off, Roll on the clutch and off the throttle when preparing to change and vice versa post change.

Yes it does and Yes you can.

Edit: Personally I preferred to train myself to drive around it but the throttle dashpot decay table can be altered to improve the situation.

EDIT EDIT:I can't believe I missed this.....Roll on Roll off Rollex

Guys. Mal Wood in Warwick Qld adjusted the diff and gearbox in mine a few years back and it's bean much better ever since. I mentioned this to Spiro at Autotech and I think he said that he could have done the work for me in Sydney.

In the hotter summer months, I still get a bit of rollover noise in neutral with my foot off the clutch. Push the clutch in and the noise disappears. That noise disappears in the cooler months. Maybe a trans oil cooler would eliminate the noise, but the gearbox shifts more smoothly when its warm. If my memory is correct, Mal Wood recommends Caltex Trans Max Z synthetic fluid for the gear box. He also fitted a remote clutch bleed line for me.

Can you tune the off throttle to disengage slowly so it's in the tune, as otherwise I have learn't just to let off my throttle slowly and it's annoying. The FG is almost a perfect car this is the only let down if somebody could design a different subframe setup I would buy it.

How do you avoid the clunk, keep your foot planted

it's like the joke how do you avoid a hangover, keep drinking.
