Now that Taleb's crapped it, hook in! Got the tyres this morning, so pretty darn quick. Dumped on the doorstep no signature required lol.

How old are they

Only a month older than mine. Not sure how "new" most new tyres really are?

that's fine....pretty sure 6yrs is the max.

I think I read they start losing 'performance' after the 3/4yr mark.

21/14 is 10+ months old. Not ideal to have tyres sitting around for 10 months before going on a car. In saying that not sure what most places consider as 'new' tyres. Pretty sure my tyres were all put on within about 3 months of manufacture

I am not sure why you'd be worried about 10 months? Especially if stored decently.

If they were stored in a barn and exposed to bulk water, dust and sunlight maybe they'd be in bad nick. But I'd say 10 months old for a tyre would almost qualify as a perfectly reasonable turn around time.

Nah f*ck it. Next time I get tyres I want them to be as fresh as the bread I get from the bakery.

They look pretty clean to me, so either they gave 'em a quick wash before shipping out or actually stored them well.

I'll get these fitted next week as time permits, but yeah, never really figured unused tyres had a use-by-date. Perhaps in a warranty sense?

I reckon the rubber would go bad eventually. Or harden if it's not getting any heat in it.

But to me that would take years not months.
