The white lines were already marked on them previously and I've matched them up. Looking at it now I probably should have flipped the top one around the other way. I slid the shaft out of the gearbox so I didn't need to touch the donut. It looks to be in good condition though with no cracks or anything. I really appreciate your input boys! Keep up the troubleshooting. My real issue is pitlane not being open on Saturdays. I wouldn't be in this pickle if I didn't have to take a day off work to get her down to a real mechanic. C'mon mick! Maybe put the rear up on stands (wheels off the ground)Start the car and put her in gear, jump under and loosen the centre bearing mount bolts (while the shaft is spinning)And then do them up again, it will help true the bearing and rubber if it is distortedI doubt it's your problem, but I was told to do the same when I put my new tailshaft inAlso... Might even add a bit more weight to see if it helps. I've had them on in three different spots now and it is definitely at its smoothest in the 'original' position. I'm starting wear out the little tabs that hold them on so I might go to ford tomorrow to get a couple new ones. Mind you that might add in even more factors to the conundrum. I'll give that a go Wilko when I pick up my car stands. Currently living at my girlfriends place and I'm missing all my car stuff!
