of course there are variables with both methods, the only accurate or closest I can think of is an engine dyno but then many variables need to be kept constant

So trap speed and dyno figures are both not accurate???

I guess we'll just claim to have as much power as we want.

Lol.. I believe my statement was some may be largely inflated.

But in the spirit.

I have 608rwkw.

Can't get grip so can't test it on the track..

To many mangs.

Maybe I wasnt specific enough with my question.

With dyno figures specifically which run would normally be the one that tuner would use as the measure when advising the customer of the max power produced on the Dyno?

I understand that there are other ways of determining power but I am simply wondering in relation to using a dyno as a measurement of power whether some tuners might base their figures off a cold run for example.

personally I wouldn't want my car pulling a cold dyno run.

That said multiple back to back pulls on the dyno would

be the most reflective considering heat soak etc.

Ultimately a dyno is a tuning tool and will depend on the inputs

of the operator and whether the customer wants to bat off onto

the laminated dyno sheet.

For some it is all about a number and not the driveability or relative safety of the tune.

It is also the responsibility of the customer to discuss with the tuner expected outcomes

and the best way to achieve that result

other wise it is how long is a piece of string

hope this helps
