Air to air is still has a temp variable depending on ambient temp.

Corrrct but only an issue for the initial warm up process, its all about maintaining some constants while driving/abusing

Our climate dictates that its going to be on the right side 99% of the time

Still falls in my happy place and proved to be the goods across many many vehicles now

Disagree.

Not sure about Radelaide but Perth sees ambient temp range of aprox -3 to +45.

Hence my opinion that heat transfer medium for the trans fluid needs to be temp controlled.

Obviously we aren't going to agree on this.

I do understand what you're saying and we keenly awaited these days on our own zf equipped cars to see exactly real world what was going to happen and it was nothing but a fizzer that took no more looking into it

Stats suggested bigger things were going to be a negative effect

But in real time it just didn't eventuate, hence why I have zero issues fitting them to customes cars

Its like when things are ment to be amazing in life and it just doesn't stack up the way the pamphlet said

What we do find though is customers thrash their cars more than initially said and this is where keeping temps down or maintaining them is of an advantage

Has anybody run both? Or is it even worth it

I'm talking for high abuse flogging...

Hot line out of the gearbox through an oil/air cooler and then through a coolant/oil exchanger

That way normal driving it makes no difference, but flogging it will help it keep it at the constant temp

I'm talking for high abuse flogging around a track

Also can either of you gurus tell me which line is in and out on the box?
