Oh ffs really? What a load of sh*t. Old mate has obviously taken the OP for a muppet.

You could put fkn canola oil in and it would make the same power until it blew up........

Why do you have to tighten manifold bolts I have never heard the need to do this on any car except Falcon.

Is it inlet manifold or exhaust, the service manual only mentions intake.

I have tightened both exhaust and inlet on any turbo car I've had ....

I know it's an old bucket but u can notice the difference in my 180 massively once you do it.

When your talking about forcing air into anything sh*ts bound to get loose and when your trying to shove compressed air into anything the air tends to find the weakest points and leak out of them so even letting them loose a little makes a difference,

Plus vibrations ect etc

when your talking inlet manifold on a boosted car maintaining pressure and boost is obviously the main goal.

Wouldn't let me edit but I forgot to say that it's also from the rapid heating and then cooling and then heating again from the dissimilar metals that also makes it get loose.... Same with the exhaust aswell.

When the exhaust mani comes loose it sounds like a truck

I didnt get him to do the new oil change, took it to ford. they sussed everything out computer was fine no faults and told them the oil in it and they said wrong stuff. changed over to what they use and the power was back. did no other work no colis no plugs no tightening of manifold, nothing. it was the oil there was nothing else it could have been. ive never heard of oil making loss of power hence why I assumed coils or plugs or manifold even fuel filter. still confuses me
