Screamer And Tuning

Xr6turbo developments are now doing good deals on external gate and screamer set ups at $900 but just wondering if there are issues with tuning them? I have heard that because the o2 sensors don't pick up the true exhaust flow it can be a problem to tune? What issues are there with general driveability, increased fuel consumption etc?

I'm only going for 350rwkw so I know internal gate will do the job but gonna cost me $500 for port and flapper, actuator etc or $900 for screamer set up and to be honest its more for wank factor that I'd go screamer, I just love the sound. The other benefit is I'm only running 3.5" dump and cat with rear muffler delete so this will help significantly on the exhaust flow side of things and subsequently my stock valve springs too.

Cheers

Engine noise can not be heard over the volume of the screamer pipe and the volume triggers the electronic knock detection sensors into thinking there is knock when in fact there is not.

The falcon engine on 98 octane will still make power while pinging so unlike some engines the torque trace does not help with max spark advance tuning

it can still not be heard to have an accurate tune but E85 does not have to be as close to the knock threshold to make it's power as 98 does, although some still take it to far
