Had the windows down today and when I lifted the revs and everything started to come on boost, there was a tin'y rattle noise coming from the drivers side of the engine bay. At first I thought it might be the wastegate flapper bouncing around or something, but then thoughts moved to something a bit more sinister, Im thinking broken timing chain tensioner. It could sound a little like a slapping chain. Can someone confirm what it sounds like pls?

I know it's about due for a belt so I might pick one up tomorrow before I head off Will report back. The noise does sound clear so I'm thinking external to the block (ie an idler)

You can buy a kit on eBay for around $150, consisting of idle pulley, tension pulley (and arm) and drive belt. Genuine Ford parts.

Good start for troubleshooting, and good maintenance move.

Do a search for the idle pulley part number (BA8A617A) to find such listings.
