Are the Pistons in these turbo motors the press fit gudeon pin or do they have circlip locks in them? If they are circlip like some people tell me they are then you could throw a set of spool rods in with the standard Pistons whilst it's apart if its on e85 the standard Pistons should handle the power but having some good rods will make sure it doesn't throw a rod out and wreck it all.

Stop buying sh*t sight unseen.

Stop being so f*cking trusting.

The world is full of *beep* learn and understand that.

Stop trying to build a car on the cheap. Very few people pull it off. It almost always costs two or three times the amount they set out with

You have skills and determination to own a fast street sleeper. Don't get put off that dream or you will regret it.

Now shut and formulate a plan and build the bloody thing.

Then take me for a ride in it.

Yeah they are circlip style and being so damn new Id use these pistons if only after 450rwkw no worries....new set of steel Hastings rings and SPOOL rods will be a solid rotating assembly for 450rwkw....use new clips not old ones trust me on this one fellas lol.

OP....

Stud the motor up(use stock girdle),don't skimp on machining/prep and address the tensioner/oil pump/crank sprocket and guide bolt plus 360 degree thrust bearing mod ;)

Your very very low kms FG guides are fine to use as is a new OEM gasket from Ford that two sellers on Ebay(they are part of Ford) sell for very competitive prices.

KING make some entry level bearings(still a Race) more than suitable for your application and cheap in the scheme of things.

If going for a new aftermarket piston Manley make a 004 sized Forged offering and will raise the comp to 9.1:1 giving a very slight gain in the process of strengthening the area....retail at about $1280 a set so with a set of rods you are looking at about $2100.

I know that the FG F6 gudgeon pins are clipped. I don't know about the XR engines.
