I know exactly where he is coming from cause I am sure he has the same luck as I do in life.

Get the bearings for your peace of mind. I Got the surge tank and I have not looked back since.

What ever happened to getting it done right the first time?

Since he has the engine apart, he may as well get it done.

I still reckon you should keep the engine, but try and get some cash back from this guy.

Well how many production engines sh!t themselves after 6500kms?

Not many.

The cylinders look like they have lite scuff marks from the pistons, unless you can actually feel scoring in the cylinders I wouldn't worry about it.

As Bomber said, if you have to then remove a cap and check a bearing, but expect to see wear as the engine isn't even run in yet.

I wouldn't even worry about the rollers as this seems to be the norm for these engines.

Listen to the people that know these engines.

If they say it looks normal then that would be good enough for me.

I've opened up engines that I've rebuilt myself and seen wear I wasn't expecting after a few thousand Ks but that's because an engine wears a fair amount during the run in period ,that's also why the first oil change is much sooner than regular oil changes.

The engines contaminated the oil with metal etc whilst it settles in.

Maaate, do what I mentioned in the PM - simple. As I discussed with Tony Bellert this arvo and forwarded to you, he has given you some very reasonable costings to work with. Call him tomorrow and work out a plan. I'm starting to think you like the drama mate.

Two options

1. Send the engine back, stop asking for advice

2. Listen to the knowledge given to you, and use it to your advantage

Simple

what knowledge ,if fitting these marked rollers is good advise I certainly will not listen to one more word that is said about building a engine on here . why do you think these cams are getting stuffed ,I think I have some idea how . that is why I asked if there are any aftermarket roller rockers on the market as the ford are not a true roller rocker . and for the marks in the bore something has entered the engine and marked them . Brocken rings ? thanks for the advise given but no more thanks as it only goes around in circles. I will sort it my self

I never said you had to follow the advice... Just take it on board and use it to your advantage

All you have done, is shot every answer down...

I'm a qualified diesel mechanic, and this thread has taught me so much more specific info about our great 6cyl engines, I'm always happy to learn more and more of my trade

I could tell you everything you wanted to know about a Mack or Volvo 16 litre engine... But its irrelevant to this

Just step back and accept the buttload of information from this thread and the forum

Every mod I have done to my car was a long thought out process using a lot of conflicting information off this forum and the many other places it is shared.

I then took it all on board and made my own decisions!
