I then was going to buy a mall wood tremec for over $7000 (no tail shaft ) . in the end I just thought it was easier to go with the BTR . I know , I really would have liked the manual . I just did not have the money for a manual conversion ,as I only wanted a near new one or re build box . I am starting to think that even my budget is not allowing me to get to 600 rwhp .but I will certainly try my best . have spoken to a guy that also has a BA turbo with 550 rwkw and runs mid 9 second passes at 140 miles plus with a Dominello build BTR . he has had the same box now for 6 years with no problems ,it has travelled 60,000 klm . Dominello was the only one that gave me a warranty on the box for 12 month unlimited runs at the drags ,now that is not bad . I know warranty's mean nothing ,and I would not hold him to it . There are plenty of reputable companies that will stand by their products - performance or otherwise.I think the BTR option is a smart one for what you're doing. You probably could have gone down an easier path with the engine but hope you'll get there in the end. Personally, I would have bought a cheap donor and got it built or use your existing engine and done the same but that's my opinion.
