Twin Plate Or Single Plate Clutch

I have an xtreme organic twin plate that I have been using daily for almost a year now in my FG with just under 400kw atw.

Fitting was no problem.

Drives pretty nice with a slightly heavier pedal but it can be a just a little tricky some times, reversing is probably the trickiest bit as you are always trying to slip the clutch which the twin plate doesn't exactly like as it will bite harder than the standard clutch.

Never had it slip even with 2nd gear standing launches but you may get the occasional smell of burnt clutch as it is organic and they don't like abuse, but all organic clutches will do that.

Yes you will get noise in 4th and 5th gear if you use 40% or more throttle below 2000rpm....just down change a gear if you need to accelerate any harder. Clutch is silent at idle with it in or out.

I do plan on going E85 later this year and am confident this clutch will hold up.

The first 2 weeks using this clutch will be an absolute nightmare (was for me anyway!) until the clutch has bedded in and you adapt to it, after that it will feel almost as easy as the standard clutch...until you watch someone else drive your car and start laughing at them!

I couldn't agree with this post anymore.

After reading all 3 pages I don't know what clutch to go for! My mind is boggled! Need something to support 430kw!

Whats the driveability like with the toque clamp clutch?

I seriously considered the torque clamp clutch but the extra purchase price ultimately turned me off it, plus the fact that you had to mess around taking your ring gear off your flywheel to use on the new one didn't help things
