Damn straight. I hate that its so exposed without the splash tray. First time I heard it scrape, I thought I'd ripped the cooler off! But was just a little scratch on the bolts.

Flow for the intercooler might be ok, but everything else about it has been a pain in the a@#e!!

If I want to go from 311kw atw to 373kw atw(500hp), what would be the best turbocharger to support this, but it needs to have linear power, I don't want it to ramp up.

Any help would be awesome. And what other ancillaries would I need to make this power safely?

Not sure if you have sorted out your suspension or not, but I HIGHLY recommend getting the shokworks gear.

Makes the car drive on rails. The worst part for me are the small bumps in the road that get amplified for some reason.

Everything else is fine.

In regards to your power figure of 373rwkw, you may have to go the GTX3582r. The GTX3576r will get you to 360rwkw on E85(?)

I have 310rwkw at the moment and I think that if I go to 375rwkw like I plan on doing, I won't be happy with it after 6 months.

May as well get something like a precision 6235 and get 4XX rwkw and be over and done with it. :P

But if you go for that sort of power in a manual, you need to beef up the driveline.

NPC clutch is on my list. Drive shaft. wider tyres after that as well to get the power to the ground.

May as well spoil yourself and get a short shifter as well. ;)

Thanks for the advice masda74, am still looking at different suspension sets. I have ppl who swear by tein super street advance, but they go to the track, I don't. I've had ppl say that the pedders xa coilovers are a good budget setup if street performance is all I want.

I do have a manual, do you recommend doing driveline upgrade prior to doing power upgrade?

I bought an Aeroflow fg 6sp short shifter, but my mechanic did not recommend installing it. I don't know if its because he knows I drive like a tool, or if its performance is not worthwhile.

Thanks again for turbo advice, is the GTX3582r or Precision 6235 linear power turbos?

Want smooooth power if that's possible :drivingalong:

I was hoping that the stock clutch will be good enough for the power level im at now? Would you recommend the option 3 plus clutch kit from Mal Wood?

I do not go to the drags or tracks either. I use my car as a daily and I can say that I am happy with the shockworks.

I know how the car felt before going around the roundabout. Felt like a barge!!! Swaying from left to right with the roll and all.

I no longer have the roll which means the car grips better.

If you can, get in a few cars that have the different setups and go for a drive. Hopefully someone will let you drive their car.

.Stripes was kind enough to let me drive is XR50 turbo with the 6k Tein setup with GPS. I didn't exactly like the setup, but I knew it gripped well.

When .Stripes let me drive his GT with the shockworks, I was IMPRESSED to say the least.

Then trying to keep up with him on the twisty roads up in the hills impressed me even more.

Test drive a few cars if you can mate and make a decision then.

I have the aeroflow shortshifter and it has not impacted on performance. it will not impact on performance. it just makes the shifting experience more enjoyable.

Just ask .stripes. he got the ripshifter and was not happy. Drove my car and loved it that much, that he got the ripshifter taken out and put the aeroflow one put in.

In regards to the stock clutch, I have been told by one of the ford service managers that they are rated up to 450HP.

That being said, we are not too far of the mark with 310/311 RWKW. If you plan on upgrading power, you gunna need to change the clutch.

Some people enjoy and swear by the Malwood option 3 setup. I think I might just stick with Monsta Torque's recommendation of getting the dual plate NPC setup.

Apparently with the new slave cylinder(NPC gear), the clutch feels a lot lighter than the stock clutch itself.

I have not driven a car with either of the clutch setups, but it will be a while before I do any more upgrades.

Linear power has to do with the way the tune is setup. some people like having the power smashed in down low so that they can smoke the tyres.

Others like myself prefer it to be spread over the rev range. Just tell your tuner what you want to accomplish and I am sure he will work with you to get there.

At this stage I am torn between sticking with a GTX3576r or the precision 6235.

hmm thanks for that. More food for thought. What kind of price range is the shockworks kit? Pedders XA=1700, Tein=2300. Did not want to spend too much, as I don't go to track, just want to get rid of the roll-and-squat out of corners.

I wonder why my mechanic suggested against installing the quick shift kit?

I believe that they are 2k new, but then you need o also get them installed.

I am not sure if there is anyone in your area that does them. I am sure someone that knows, will speak up.

quickshift kit? or do you mean short shifter for the gear lever?
