Hey,

would greatly appreciate if anyone knows exatly how to change fg 6 speed manual clutch fuild and bleed, is there a bleed nipple, does the system need to be pressurized or is it as simple as doing brakes, my clutch peddle returns very slow for the first couple times I get in the car in the morning or late at night.

Also can anyone recommend clutch fuild. 2010 fg xr6 turbo

cheers.

The bleed point is a small access hole on the side of the bellhousing to a nipple on the Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC).

Putting a socket through the access hole can loosen the bleed nipple, but it's not ideal as a lot of the fluid that comes out ends up inside the bellhousing. Getting a small hose onto the nipple would be ideal so that you can "direct" the fluid out of the access hole.

The system is designed to be self-pressurizing, so you can "dump" the fluid out of that nipple while replacing it at the reservoir (using the clutch to pump it slowly) and then do up the nipple when you're "happy" with the fluid colour coming out of the CSC and then you pump the pedal slowly and consistently for a few minutes with the cap off the reservoir and it should bubble out the air trapped in the system.

Leaving it overnight and trying again is another good idea to help the system self-pressurize.

Ideally you'd remove the gearbox and fit a remote bleed line and an alloy CSC while you're there (then you can do a proper bleed) ->

Clutch fluid can be any DOT 4 hydraulic fluid, realistically.
