Thanks for the link, those instructions make it a straight forward fix. Will get a new pump tomorrow then.

Use the garden hose to flush it out if required:

New pump in and the issue is now all sorted. Quick and easy to do with that thread link above - cheers for that it was really helpful. I was a bit slow but still managed it in under 20 mins including cleaning up afterwards.

Cap left open overnight with bonnet up I'm guessing, went for a swim and couldn't get back out. Looks like Luke found it before tooooo long though?

Use a hammer and some gentle violence...

Uhh didn't work. Any other suggestions. It's like they welded in place.

The Mazda3 was easy with a pin.

What ever you do, don't use toothpicks like someone I know in our family.
